Christmas Recital '09
Our
Christmas show is fast approaching, although we still have a lot to
do to make it a success. Below is a list of some important details that
will help make this possible. Let’s take a look.
Each
class will need to have a party dress to wear in the first part of the
show with the exception of the Tuesday 4:30 Teens and the Thursday 5:00
Midget class – they will dance at the party. Also, some of the
Senior dancers will need to dress in a suit to be some of the fathers
at the party. (I will let each of them know who they are.)
I
have a complete list of things each class will need to get on their
own (see list below). I have just about all the costumes we need,
except for a few things. Also, all will need to have pink ballet shoes.
As
we get closer to December, we will need to schedule a few extra rehearsals.
I will talk to the Seniors who have extra parts one-on-one. As for all
dancers, we will learn and run through the big number on Saturday, December
5th. All should plan to be at the studio at least two hours between
12:30-4:30 so we can run these numbers. The older dancers plan on being
at the studio 3-4 hours. On the back of this newsletter is a schedule
as to when the dancers are expected to be at the studio. This rehearsal
will be important for all. If you have a conflict, please let Shannon
know right away.
So
mark your calendar now for Saturday, December 5th
between 12:30-4:30 (see schedule below). (Parents: This could be
a great time to get some shopping done.)
Tickets
The tickets for “The Nutcracker” will not be sold on a particular
day. They will be purchased via order form. This will be open seating
event, which means first come - first serve. There will be 500 or so
tickets available for the 2:00 show, divided by 56 families –
a guarantied 8 tickets per family. Money and order forms are due back
ASAP so I will be able to get them back to you quickly. Those who get
them in before December 5th will be able to pick up your tickets during
our scheduled extra rehearsal on Saturday, December 5th between 12:30-4:30.
With this being an open seating event, on the ticket will only be the
show information with no seat number. There really is not a bad seat
in the Scott Auditorium. The cost is $6.00 per ticket and ages 2 and
under are free with a lap ticket. If they will be sitting in their own
seat, you will need to purchase a ticket for them.

| When
coming to the studio on December 5th, only bring your ballet shoes,
not your whole dance bag. We have a limited amount of space in the
studio, so leave all your extra bags, purses, games and anything
else that you usually bring with you. Also, no snacks (each lunch
before the rehearsal). We will be working the entire time. You may
bring a water bottle with you to have on breaks. All must be in
a leotard and tights and ballet shoes. If you are still in need
of ballet shoes, please see Shannon so we can get them ordered ASAP.
