Shannon Riegling - Owner / Teacher
Miss
Shannon is the Owner of Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio
and is in her fifteenth successful year of business. Shannon
is a very gifted dancer who has 34 years of dance experience
in ballet, pointé, tap, jazz, acrobatics and modern
hip hop. As a mother of two young children herself, Shannon
always stresses the importance of making each child feel
important and that they belong to our dance family, while
giving them the self confidence we all strive for. Shannon
balances her kindness and compassion for each student with
discipline, hard work and structure to make each child the
best dancer he or she can be. No one is a stranger to Miss
Shannon, and she makes every person who stops by her studio
feel like they are special as she will take time to speak
to everyone and make you feel right at home, as she answers
all of your questions regarding the studio. This year, Miss
Shannon will be teaching Junior IV, Teen III, Senior I,
all Pointe classes, Senior II Ballet and Tap, Midgets II-III,
Junior 1, Shannon's Progression Dance Stars Team, Christmas
Recital Performances, and all Extra Recital Numbers.

Catherine
Smith - Co-Owner
Certified
Member DMA
Cathy Smith, born in Huntington W.V. and raised in South
Florida has been involved in the performing arts since a
young age. She began her career as an actress in educational
television productions for the school system of Palm Beach
County, FL. as a featured actress. She began dance at the
age of 12 at the Joan Bennet School of Dance. During her
high school years, and as a member of the nationally known,
Atlantic High School Eaglettes Drill Team; under the direction
of Genia Howard, she began to study dance at the Palm Beach
Ballet Center under the direction of Joan Miller. The same
instructor as Billy Bell from the hit TV show, "So
You Think You Can Dance".
Following
high school, Cathy took her dance experience to the professional
level as a featured dancer and choreographer at theme parks
in North Carolina and Florida. In addition, she was a featured
dancer at the 1982 Worlds Fair in Knoxville, TN. She continued
her formal dance training at the SunCoast Academy of Dance
in St Petersburg, FL, and attended many workshops and conventions:
Tremaine Dance Conventions, Dance Olympus and Dance Masters.
While living in Pensacola, Florida, Cathy opened and operated
her own dance studio, Cathy’s School of Dance, which
grew to an enrollment of more than 200 students. During
her time in Pensacola, she was a constant choreographer
for the Pensacola Jr. College dance department, and a member
of the Gulf Coast Dance Alliance.
A
move to Houston, TX in 1992, resulted in the sale of her
studio and the opening of another chapter in Cathy’s
dance experience. In Houston, Cathy partnered with Renegade
Cheer Academy and Cypress Academy in developing competitive
dance team programs. Her dance teams represented Cypress
Academy in Regional and National Dance Competitions. In
2000, her dance team took 1st place in the Senior Jazz division
at the “Americas Best” competition in Dallas
and was awarded the National Grand Championship award, reflecting
the highest score total across all divisions and age groups.
In 2003, Cathy moved to Union, KY with her husband David,
and two children Jennifer and Sara. In 2003, Cathy was hired
as a choreographer for the Ryle High School Raiderettes
Dance Team. In 2004, she accepted the position as Director
and Coach for the Ryle Raiderettes. Under Cathy’s
direction, the Raiderettes have competed in regional competitions
and Open Championships and was awarded National Champion
of the AmeriDance Nationals in Indianaloplis, IN in 2009.
In July 2007, Cathy participated in the Broadway Dance Center
Teacher Workshop, held in New York City. During this convention
she had the privilege to train and learn from some of the
dance industry’s most renowned and respected choreographers
such as Mia Michaels, Rhonda Miller, Finis Jhung, Wade Robson
and Brian Friedman. To continue her education she regularly
attends teacher training workshops.

Klein - Teacher
Miss
Ashley is new to on our Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio
Staff beginning this dance season of 2011/2012. We look forward
to her teaching the Contemporary Urban Jazz Class for
the Monday Night Seniors.

Kelly
Barrett - Ballet, Tap, ,Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop Teacher

Kelly is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and has
been dancing since the age of three. Her training includes
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Gymnastics. She
was the Co-Owner of a successful dance studio in Ohio for
13 years. Her choreography has won many regional and national
awrds, which include 4 Top Choroegrapher Awards and 2 Top
Studio Awards. Some of her students have contined their education
at Tennessee State, CCM, Oklahoma City University, Ohio State,
and Joffery Ballet.
She
is a certified Pilates Reformer Instructor, and currently
teaches at The Pilates Connexion.
Kelly
keeps her choreography current by attending workshops and
classes in her off season. She has studied with Finis Jhung,
Joe Tremaine, Jo Rowan, Bob Rizzo, Cathy Roe, Charles Kelly,
Mandy Moore, Tap Dog Chris Smith and Anthony Locascio.
Her
extensive knowlege of anatomy and physiology of movement has
allowed her to train beginning to advanced dancers to excel
to their potential. Her love of life, laughter, and passion
for dance, has made her a beloved teacher of all ages.
This
is Kelly's first year at Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio. |

Krystine
Feran - Teacher
Krystine
is our new Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio Zumba instructor
beginning January 2012, and has been on our Demonstrator Staff
since 2008. If the studio is open, you can count on finding
Krystine in any available class, always so amitious, teachable
and striving to learn, and to also offer her assistance in
her valuable demonstration skills as needed. Krystine brings
a bundle of energy, spunkiness and fun wherever she goes!
She is known by her fellow students as one of our studios
most gifted and hardworking dancers.
Krystine
has many years of experience in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe,
modern, hip hop, urban jazz, and competition team, where she
often performs award winning solos and duets. Krystine has
never met a dancer that she didn't call her friend. We are
pleased to announce that Krystine will continue to demonstrate
in several classes again this year and so glad that she calls
Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio her home away from home. |

Libby
Schild - Teacher
Libby has been dancing at Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio
since she was a Tiny Tot at the age of 2. She is a former
Demonstrator, who after taking a brief time off from the studio,
returned to Senior II and Dance Team. Beginning January 2012,
she will be taking her cheerleading experience, and teaching
Acrobatics I and II. We look forward to have her on our dance
staff this year.

Megan
Kanter - Teacher
Megan
has been on our Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio Demonstrator
Staff since 2009, and beginning January 2012, she has been
added to our Instructor staff as a Hip Hop I and II Teacher.
She has been with SAADance since she began as a Tiny Tot and
has many years of experience in ballet, tap, jazz, and competition
team. Megan's sister, Miss Rachel, is also a demonstrator
on staff with us. In fact, Megan's entire family is part of
our SAADance family with Megan’s sister, Miss Rachel,
being a current demonstrator on staff with us and their older
sister, Lauren, a former SAADance teacher. So, we have enjoyed
watching this young lady grow up to be such an incredibly
talented and lovely dancer who brings so much grace and beauty
to our studio. It is remarkable to watch year after year as
Megan evolves into the dancer she is becoming. We are pleased
to announce that Megan will be demonstrating in several classes
this year. We are so glad to have her and her family as part
of our SAADance family.

Natalie
Arlinghaus - Teacher
Miss
Natalie has been on our Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio
Staff since the fall of 2004, where she began as a demonstrator
and joined the Teaching Staff in 2006. Natalie
is a student at Thomas More College. She is a former student
of Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio, with many years of
experience in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance, Pointé
and Competition Team.
She
teaches several of our classes including those for most of
our youngest dancers, whom she is very popular with. If you
happen to stop by during a Saturday morning class, chances
are you will most likely find our smallest 2 to 3 year old
dancers in their little pink tutus scrambling for a spot to
sit on Miss Natalies lap, or wrapping their little arms around
her neck for a hug, when she's not teaching them the basics
of how to tap and to point their little toes. This is how
our dance family begins, and Natalie sets a firm foundation
with a balance of discipline and much love for her young students.
Natalie
is very well-loved by all of our dancers of all ages, especially
those who grew up with and around her, and she is a very talented
young dancer herself. We are so pleased to have her on our
Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio staff each year. |

Nicole
Staudt - Jazz and Lyrical Teacher
Nicole, is currently a third grade teacher at St. Cecila, in
Independance. She has been dancing for more than 19 years. She
began dancing at 4, at Studio 4 in LaGrange, Ky., studying Tap
and Ballet. She later extended her studies to include Jazz,
and at 10 years old began Pointe. She
was a 4 year member of the Mercy Academy High School dance
team in Louisville. Nicole is graduate of Northern Kentucky
Universty, where she was a member of the dance team for three
years.

Rachel
Kanter - Teacher
Rachel
has been on our Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio Demonstrator
Staff since 2009, and beginning January 2012, she has been

She has been with Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio since
she began as a Tiny Tot and has several years of experience
in ballet, tap, jazz, and competition team. Rachel's sister,
Miss Megan, is a demonstrator on staff with us as well. Their
older sister, Lauren, is a former dance teacher. Rachel's
parents get involved with the studio and are often volunteering
in any capacity they can find where there is a need. Rachel's
family is also another one of our long-time dance families,
where we have watched each young lady in her family grow from
a little tiny girl unto a beautiful and very talented young
lady. Rachel shows such remarkable grace and poise in every
dance she performs and shows more and more talent each year
she returns to the studio. We are pleased to announce that
Rachel will be demonstrating in several classes this year.

Sara
Smith - Ballet Teacher / Demonstrator
Sara is a Junior at Ryle High School and has several years of
dance training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporay and
Tap. In addition she was a competitive cheerleader for 6 years
in studios located in Houston and northern Kentucky. Sara is
a fourth year member of the Sr. Competition Team.
This
is Sars's first year as an Instructor at Shannon's Progressions
Dance Studio. |

Becca is
a member

and is in 6th grader at Gray Middle School. She has been dancing
for four years. In addtion to dance, she is an aspiring artist. |

Kendall
is a member
of Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio Assistant staff.
She is a 4th grader at Longbranch Middle School and has been
dancing for four years. Her training include Ballet, Jazz, Contemporay
and Hip Hop. She is a first year member of the Sr. Competition
Team, and a previous member of the Jr. Competition Team. |

Molly
Downing - Demonstrator
Molly has been on our Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio
Demonstrator Staff since 2010. Prior to that, she assisted
us as an alternate demonstrator and helped wherever there
was a need. Molly has been with Shannon's Progressions Dance
Studio since she began as a Tiny Tot and has several years
of experience in ballet, tap, jazz, and winning awards with
the competition team. Molly is extremely gifted and talented,
and very popular with her fellow students. We are pleased
to announce that Molly will be demonstrating in several classes
this year and look forward to what she will bring to each
class she demonstrates.

Samantha
Reynolds - Demonstrator
Samantha
has been on our Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio Demonstrator
Staff since 2009. She has been with Shannon's Progressions
Dance Studio since she began as a Tiny Tot and has several
years of experience in ballet, tap, jazz, and competition
team. Samantha has been working so hard for so many years
with us, and we are amazed at the incredibly gifted dancer,
and beautiful young lady she has so quickly grown up to become.
Samantha is a true athlete / dancer and keeps her schedule
quite busy, juggling her love for dance with her love for
soccer, and somehow manages to be amazing at both! Samantha
comes from a family with parents and a sibling who have always
supported our dance studio, and have been involved with anything
we have going on, volunteering for any need or event. If there's
something going on at Shannon's Progressions Dance Studio,
you can count on Samantha and her family to be right there
supporting us. Samantha is a young lady with many friends
at the studio and is well loved by all who know her. We are
pleased to announce that Samantha will be demonstrating in
several classes again this year.
